The Call
One opportunity, accepted in a single day, changed the direction of our family.
From a storm to a strategy.
From experience to a full-picture method.
This is the story of how family, experience, technology, and one bold decision became the foundation of everything I build today.
In 2017, one unexpected phone call changed the direction of my family, my career, and the life I thought I was building.
My husband had recently lost his job, and our family needed a door to open. Then the call came on a Friday. He had to accept that same day and report to Florida the following Wednesday, while Hurricane Irma was moving toward the state.
The assignment was supposed to last only 30 days. The original plan seemed responsible and simple: he would work the assignment, I would remain in Alabama at the job I had held for more than seven years, and he would come home when it ended.
But once we realized this might be more than a temporary detour, everything changed. I submitted my notice. Our oldest daughter stayed with my sister while we found housing and protected her schooling. Then I boarded a plane with our one-year-old son, two suitcases, a diaper bag, and no guarantee that the opportunity would last beyond the month.
I walked away from seven years of security for 30 days of uncertainty.
Was I afraid? Absolutely. But fear was not a good enough reason to stay, and comfort was not a good enough reason to say no. I decided I would rather be uncomfortable and moving than comfortable and stuck.
The move did not happen because every answer appeared. It happened because we kept making the best next decision with the information we had.
One opportunity, accepted in a single day, changed the direction of our family.
I stopped waiting for certainty and chose the next responsible move.
We gathered what we could, worked through each decision, and moved one step at a time.
I left a seven-year career, moved states, and began again without a safety net.
The lessons became businesses, systems, books, and a mission to help women build.
Florida did not hand me a business. It handed me a blank page. I had no established network in a new market, no reputation to lean on, and no familiar title to hide behind.
What I did have was a finance degree, years in investments and financial services, graduate training in information technology and project management, a habit of solving complicated problems, and a family counting on me to figure out what came next.
So I took what I knew and put it to work. I learned digital marketing, websites, search, advertising, customer journeys, follow-up, automation, content, and what it really takes to build a company behind the scenes. I made mistakes. I changed direction. I built, tested, failed, refined, and built again.
That season taught me something I now tell women all the time: you are not starting from nothing. You are starting from everything you have already survived, learned, carried, and become.
Between the leap and the results, there is a long middle. That middle is where the real rebuilding happened.
I launched offers that did not sell and ideas that did not land. I learned that a failed launch is information, not a verdict on your worth.
What I started with is not what I do now. Every pivot removed something that did not fit and moved me closer to the work I was actually built to do.
I carried clients, ideas, projects, follow-up, technology, content, and decisions in my head. Eventually, I realized I had not built freedom. I had built another job that depended on me for everything.
I stopped treating systems like software and started treating them like structure. Clear processes gave the business consistency, protected the client experience, and created room for me to lead.
Confidence did not arrive before every decision. It grew as I made difficult choices, recovered from disappointment, and kept moving without guarantees.
Women kept asking how I was building, automating, pivoting, and continuing. Answering those questions honestly became the foundation of The Blueprint.
I help women leading established agencies and professional-service firms build the strategy, systems, AI, automation, and leadership capacity required to scale without carrying the entire business themselves.
I built everything I teach. I launched businesses before I felt ready. I automated work people said could not be automated. I failed, pivoted, adjusted, and launched again.
I do this work because I know what it costs to wait. Waiting is usually paid for in years. I have watched brilliant women sit on ideas until someone else built them, not because they lacked talent, but because they did not have a clear plan, the right support, or permission from themselves to begin.
My work is not about adding more to an already full life. It is about identifying what matters, building systems that protect your peace, and becoming the leader your next chapter requires.
I look for the truth of the situation before chasing visibility, applause, or the next opportunity.
I do what I say, tell the truth about the work, and protect the trust people place in me.
More effort is not always the answer. The right structure changes what effort can produce.
Ideas become valuable when we move, test, refine, and follow through.
The work should create real value, solve meaningful problems, and leave people stronger.
I am building work, systems, and opportunities that can outlive a title or a season.
“The goal was never to be busy. The goal was to build something that could hold my life.”
Mrs. KToday I lead a business that supports my family, teaches what I have lived, and gives me room to be present for the people I love. That is the whole point. Not simply a bigger title, but a better life.
I built The Blueprint so the next woman does not have to guess her way through every decision. I build connected back-office systems so she does not have to run her business across disconnected tools. I am building community so she does not have to build alone.
And I am still building. Still learning. Still taking steps before every light turns green.
Your story is not behind schedule. It is still being written.
Her entrepreneurial chapter grew from a life-changing relocation, years in finance and technology, and a desire to create work that supported her family and used the full range of her experience.
She combines financial knowledge, technology, project management, marketing, automation, and lived entrepreneurial experience. She has built and run the systems she teaches.
Clarity, integrity, disciplined execution, client trust, and the belief that technology should support the human relationship rather than replace it.
Women leading established agencies and professional-service firms who need stronger strategy, systems, AI, automation, leadership, and capacity for scale.
Yes. Alongside community, speaking, and educational resources, she works directly with a limited number of established women-led agencies and professional-service firms each year.
Let’s build the next chapter intentionally.
